Our linear motor axes are used in a camera-controlled quality assurance system in a highly frequented sorting plant. The special feature: two linear motors were installed on each axis so that the axes have slides that work independently of each other.
Installed on a ceiling-mounted X-axis, our linear motor axes take over the sorting for quality assurance as a Y-axis. The highest demands were placed on throughput times. To meet these demands, the linear motor axes have two slides, each of which is driven by a linear motor that works independently of the other. Grippers were mounted on the slides for sorting so that faulty products can be efficiently separated. The sorting integrated directly into the manufacturing process has resulted in an enormous increase in productivity while maintaining the highest quality.
