We welcome 19 new trainees – 500 employees in our anniversary year
For 19 young people, a new phase of life began on September 1st. They started their training with us in Offenburg. However, the day was not only very special for these young people. We also had another reason to celebrate, because the arrival of the new apprentices means we now have more than 500 employees in Offenburg. We are celebrating this milestone in our company’s history at the same time as our 30th anniversary.
It all began in 1993. At that time, Taiwanese company HIWIN TECHNOLOGIES CORP. took over Holzer Kugelgewindespindeln in Offenburg, which had gone bankrupt shortly before. We took the leap to start our European business with nine former Holzer employees. Today we, HIWIN GmbH, are the European headquarters of the Taiwanese group and, with our own production facilities, serve industrial customers in Germany and throughout Europe with drive solutions, ranging from individual components to complete, customised systems.
Managing Director Werner Mäurer has been with us in Offenburg from the very beginning. He has watched and helped shape our development from day one. In his view, the dynamic growth of the company is driven by three factors: the foresight of Taiwanese company founder Eric Y.T. Chuo, the innovative products and, last but certainly not least, the Offenburg employees. “Our products are the reason we work with customers; our employees are the reason for our success,” says Werner Mäurer.
For the new trainees, however, the first priority is to get to know their future work environment and their new colleagues. We are now one of the most renowned training companies in the region, have very good relationships with schools and universities, and currently train 49 trainees, and a high hiring rate has become a tradition.
